How it works
Flipping is a lossless geometric move: every pixel is copied to its mirrored position and none are invented or discarded, so a flipped image has exactly the same dimensions and detail as the original. The only quality step is the final save — JPGs are re-encoded once at high quality, while PNG and WebP keep transparency intact. A horizontal flip is what most people mean by “mirror”: it reverses left and right, which is why text becomes unreadable afterwards. A vertical flip turns the picture upside-down while keeping left and right where they were — note that this is not the same as a 180° rotation. If your photo is simply sideways, the rotate tool is the one you want.

Frequently asked questions
How do I mirror a photo horizontally?
Add the photo, leave the direction on Horizontal and press Flip. Left and right swap, so a selfie that looked reversed comes out the way other people see you.
What is the difference between flip and rotate?
Rotate turns the whole picture like a wheel and keeps it readable. Flip mirrors it, so text reads backwards and left becomes right. A vertical flip is not a 180° rotation — rotating keeps the mirror sense, flipping reverses it.
Does flipping reduce image quality?
No pixels are added or removed. PNG and WebP are saved losslessly; JPG is re-encoded once at high quality, which is not visible at normal viewing size.
Why does my selfie look mirrored in the first place?
Most phone cameras preview the front camera as a mirror so you feel natural, then save the un-mirrored version. If you prefer the mirror look, a horizontal flip restores it.
Can I flip several images at once?

Will transparency survive the flip?
Yes for PNG and WebP — the alpha channel is mirrored with the picture. JPG has no transparency to begin with.

Can I flip and then rotate?
