How it works
Text is drawn centred, in a bold sans-serif, at a size expressed as a percentage of the image width so that 8% looks the same on a phone screenshot and a 6000-pixel panorama. Multiple lines are supported — press Enter in the text box — and if a line would run past the edge the size is reduced automatically so it always fits. The outline is what makes text readable on busy photos: a dark stroke behind white lettering works on almost anything, which is why it is the default. The text is baked into the pixels, so the download is an ordinary image with no separate layer — keep your original if you may want to change the wording later. How do I put text on a picture without an app?

Can I add more than one line?
Yes — press Enter in the text box to start a new line. Lines are centred as a block at the position you chose.
Why is my text smaller than the size I set?
Because it would not fit. If a line is wider than the image, the size is reduced automatically so nothing is cut off. Shorten the line or split it in two for bigger lettering.
How do I make text readable on a busy photo?
Keep the dark outline on with white text — it stays legible over almost any background. On a dark photo, try light text with a light outline, or swap to the light outline with dark text.
Can I choose the font?
This tool uses a bold system sans-serif for reliability — it renders identically on every device. For the classic meme lettering, use the meme tool.
Can I move the text to an exact spot?
You can pick top, centre or bottom; horizontal position is always centred. For free placement, add the text and crop, or use an editor with layers.
Is the text editable afterwards?
No — it is rendered into the pixels. Keep your original file and re-run the tool if you want different wording.
